Field teams are diligently working to reinstate power in these affected areas, prioritizing safety in light of the current ground conditions, according to the utility.
The meteorology team at Pacific Power, a division of PacificCorp has been closely monitoring the storm, with crews placed on standby in southern Oregon and northern California in anticipation of snowfall throughout the weekend.
To enhance preparedness for potential outages, Pacific Power urges customers to update their contact details, enroll in outage alerts via text, email, or phone, replenish their outage kit, ensure mobile devices are charged for emergency use, and utilize Pacific Power’s free app for outage tracking and updates.
Customers can report outages by texting OUT to 722797 or check the status by texting STAT. Alternatively, they can visit pacificpower.net/outages for restoration estimates.
In light of safety considerations, Pacific Power emphasizes the importance of staying clear of all downed power lines and utility lines, regardless of whether they are sparking. Even seemingly inactive lines could be energized and pose significant dangers. Customers are advised to steer clear of areas with downed trees and power lines, and to keep pets away from such locations.
If a downed line is observed, individuals should promptly call 911 and then report the outage to Pacific Power at 1-877-508-5088.
